Forreston Fire Protection District Adds New Brush Truck to Its Fleet, Replacing 54 Year Old Truck.

Forreston, Illinois, 11/16/2024 – The Forreston Fire Protection District is proud to announce the addition of a new brush truck to its fleet, enhancing the department’s ability to respond to emergencies and serve the community with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

The new vehicle, a Ford F350, is equipped with the latest technology and safety features, including a Darley skid unit featuring a 300 gallon tank and 300 GPM pump. This acquisition represents a significant upgrade to the department’s capabilities, replacing a 54 year old, 1970 Ford 250.

“The safety of our community is always our top priority,” said Bob Meyers, Fire Chief of the Forreston Fire Protection District. “This new fire truck enhances our ability to protect lives and property, it also provides our firefighters with the tools they need to perform their duties safely and efficiently.”

The Forreston Fire Protection District would like to thank the taxpayers of Forreston and the surrounding communities for their contributions to the district that enable us to acquire equipment like this.  Special thanks to the family of the late Phyllis LaBudde, Forreston Mutual Insurance, and Kyle Groenhagen at Country Financial Insurance.
